About Us
GVT - Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Godda in Jharkhand was established at Sub-divisional Agriculture farm near Rautara chowk in the year 2006. GVT - Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Godda is managed by Gramin Vikas Trust and funded by Indian Council of Agriculturtal Research, ICAR, New Delhi. KVK is a grassroot level technology transfer and vocational training institution designed for bridging the gap between the available technologies at one end and application for increased production on the other with the following objectives
- Accelerating agricultural and allied production through acquisition of vocational skill application of appropriate technologies and inputs.
- "Teaching by doing" and "Learning by doing" and "Work-experience" are the main principles for imparting skill training.
- The emphasis is on improving the socio-econiomic conditions of weaker sections of the society by generating income oriented self employment opportunitites to make them economically self-reliant.
For the farming community KVK has organized various types of training, kisan mela, exposure visits, and exhibition for rural farmers on one hand and on the other hand, it is also facilitated by Govt. for technology assessment, refinement and its dissemination to suit location specific requirement for the practicing farmers.
